ESL & Primary English Tutor

Alice has always had a passion for languages as she believes they are key to meeting people, communicating, travelling and learning about new cultures, in all of which she has a keen interest. Alice also has a love of literature and is often found with her head in a book. Having spent her early years living on a sail boat with her family and finally settling down on Mallorca, she is fluent in Spanish and Catalan which opened many doors and has enabled her to relate to three different cultures.

Alice started teaching English at a young age. While still at school she started teaching English by helping local children in the area through fun and games for pocket money. After finishing her studies, Alice decided to make teaching her vocation. She completed her CELTA course here on the island and swiftly moved back to Barcelona, Cataluña, where she had already been living.

For three years she worked for various academies, gaining experience through a number of different teaching methods and taking part in courses, some of which specialised in teaching children in a very proactive and hands on way. Alice has taught individuals, small and large groups, both in the classroom and in other environments, and always found a better success rate if the student is enjoying themselves. She has always made sure to adapt each class to all types of learners: visual, auditory, reading, writing and kinaesthetic.

Two years ago, Alice moved back to the island and started working for an academy in the centre of Palma with groups of children and adults helping them improve level and preparing them for Cambridge, school, EOI, Selectividad and university exams.

Alice is a firm believer in learning through having fun; if the students are enjoying themselves they will take a keen interest and the learning process is much faster and more effective!
