HISTORY OF ART

Art History develops a high level of visual and/or other forms of awareness and develops the critical understanding of works of art, placing them firmly in the context in which they are found. The subject content is chronologically wide ranging, extending from the art of classical antiquity to that of the present day, covering a wide variety of media including painting, sculpture, architecture, printing, photography, installations, film and video art.

At MTA we are able to tutor and mentor in History of Art. We will ensure that the student:

  • Understands and consolidates the key knowledge areas of the curriculum.

  • Uses their learning styles to retain knowledge.

  • Understands what the examiner requires

  • Understands the examination questions

  • Understands how to and what to practice.
